If this is your first time playing bubble soccer you’re probably researching tips and tricks to make it a successful event. You might also be a little nervous are apprehensive about playing soccer in a giant bubble, but no fear, it’s fun, great exercise, and with a few simple tips you’ll have a blast.
Here are our five top tips for a successful bubble soccer event.
#1. Make sure you land on the bubble.
Just because most of your body is covered doesn’t mean your legs are and you can still fall and hurt yourself. Falling is a normal part of the game but a lot of people try to brace themselves with their legs or their feet and they could end up hurting themselves. The bubble has straps to prevent you from hitting your head but it’s okay to fall on the bubble letting it cushion your fall.
#2. Try to hit low.
It really doesn’t matter who you are or your size as little bubble soccer players can knock over bigger ones with the right hit. Try to avoid hitting high. The trick is to go low as it’s pretty difficult to knock anyone over if they can get lower than you.
#3. Don’t stay down for long.
The longer you stay down the harder it is to get up. We will come and pick you up if you stay down for too long. The goal is to get up as quickly as possible and yes, you will get hot and tired but the best strategy is to get right back up and into the action. The best players are so good at getting right back up it may be one fluid motion. But don’t worry, if you get tired just let us know and we’ll pull you to the side.
#4. Don’t leave the goal wide open.
You can get easily distracted by the fine and hilarity of the game but no position is more important than defending the goal. We usually recommend no goalies are being inside the goal box but it still doesn’t mean that you can’t defend the goal.
#5. It’s okay to pay attention to other players instead of the soccer ball.
Yes, the soccer obviously is what scores the points but don’t forget to pay attention to your opponents as well. When you’re running to the ball make sure you know where all of your appointments are and brace for impact so you can try and stay on your feet.
Again, if you have any concerns or apprehensions even when you’re out on the field just let us know. We want this to be a fun, educational, and exhilarating activity and by keeping these five tips in mind you’ll have a great time.
